This woman only put on half her makeup to make an important point

The "Power of Makeup" trend began last year as a way to combat the shaming of people who wear lipstick, mascara, blusher etc etc on their faces.

It all started with YouTuber NikkieTutorials, who said she noticed that "girls have been almost ashamed to say that they love make up".

The trend sees people put make up on half their face, while leaving the other half blank - with the idea being to demonstrate that getting "glammed up" can, and should, be about having fun - without having to care what other people think or worrying about insecurities.

Joining the "Power of Makeup" ranks this week was nail technician Kelsie Swygart - but she had a slightly different message for the haters.

Kelsie, who explained that she never wears as much make up as you can see on the left-hand side of her face, said she took on the challenge "for the sake of it" but that anyone who thought it was "too much" could "suck eggs". Her message was simple:

Even if I did this full glam look every day, it would be nobody's concern but my own.
