Alicia Keys' name is on everybody's lips.
The 15-time Grammy Award-winning singer, who is also a producer, an actress, a New York Times best-selling author and activist did something controversial.
Revolutionary.
Magical.

We couldn't believe it either..!
Keys has been campaigning for natural beauty over the last few months, after she wrote about her struggles with pressure on Lenny Letter :
One of the many things I was tired of was the constant judgment of women. The constant stereotyping through every medium that makes us feel like being a normal size is not normal, and heaven forbid if you're plus-size. Or the constant message that being sexy means being naked.
I don't want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.
A large number of people decided that was not okay...
Some people couldn't grasp the idea of no makeup. Because all women have to wear makeup. Obviously.
Others thought the whole "loving yourself" thing she's been campaigning for is going a tad too far now:
A significantly larger portion of the Twittersphere was supportive, however:
Some people even managed to focus on something other than her human face... like you know, her voice:
In completely unrelated news, singer Joe Jonas also appears to have gone bare-faced to the VMAs.
WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING ANY MAKEUP JOE?!
