For 16 years, Yahoo! Answers offered a platform on which to ask any question that popped into your brain, with a community of millions providing crowdsourced answers.
The 100 million questions asked range from the best cell phone purchase to how to get a boyfriend like Chris Brown.
But today, it was announced that the platform will shut down completely on May 4, and the Yahoo Answers section of the website will only be available in a read-only mode.
“While Yahoo answers was once a key part of Yahoo’s products and services, it has become less popular over the years as the needs of our members have changed, said the Yahoo! Answers team in a statement.
“To that end, we have decided to shift our resources away from Yahoo Answers to focus on products that better serve our members and deliver on Yahoo’s promise of providing premium trusted content.”
