A Toronto weatherman’s dog hilariously interrupted his parents’ live news report, seemingly sensing “snacks” on the forecast.
Global News meteorologist Anthony Farnell was in the midst of a weather segment when his goldendoodle, dubbed “Storm the Weather Dog,” entered the frame and ambled around leisurely, patiently anticipating treats. Unfazed, Farnell continued to deliver the news, and even managed to throw Storm some treats from off-camera.
Global News later shared a video of Storm’s adorable cameo, writing “Storm invaded the set in the middle of Anthony’s weather report, demanding treats even as Farnell was explaining to Ontarians what weather they would be facing that weekend, and discussed the dangers posed by Hurricane Ida further south.”
My new favourite WFH problem. I don’t know why, it just gets funnier https://t.co/NiIX5osHh7— rose (@rose) 1630316238
“Both consumate professionals, Anthony finished his segment without a hitch while Storm sated his hunger (and mugged a bit for the camera)...all in a day’s work!”
Apparently, Storm’s presence is nothing new for Global News viewers, as the goldendoodle has made unexpected cameos in various reports for nearly a decade. Storm’s first appearance even went viral, when he stole the spotlight from anchor Leslie Roberts, who was delivering a live report, at the Global News station in 2012.
According to both Farnell’s bio on Global News as well as Storm’s Instagram, the pair can regularly be seen at charity events and visiting schools, educating Canadian youth about meteorology.
What a good boy.
