Another day, another glorious nugget of Ukip hypocrisy. We're starting to wonder if they do it on purpose.
Today indy100 brings you the news that Ukip MEP David Coburn took to Twitter on Saturday evening to talk about how important it is that foreign workers who join the NHS are proficient in English - which is fair enough.
Except that potential difficulties are identified when the English skills of doctors from overseas are tested twice by the General Medical Council (GMC) - and Coburn's point is somewhat undermined by the fact that his point is barely intelligible:
Relationship between doctor and patient is complex both intend of diagnosis communication and treatment requires high proficiency of english
...eh?
The irony wasn't lost on Twitter.
And plenty of people suggested Ukip could impose the same standards as the GMC before throwing any more stones.
In response to the criticism Coburn has pointed out that he is fluent in French.
Twitter is in agreement, however, he should focus on practising his English for the time being.
