From Airpods 3 with spatial audio to an updated MacBook Pro with a new M1 Pro or M1 Max chip and Apple music’s new Voice Plan, Apple announced a handful of new products and features at Monday’s virtual “Unleashed” event.
Despite the innovative revelations, social media has turned its attention to the CEO himself.
Tim Cook took to his 13 million followers ahead of his Apple event on Monday to say, “Good morning! The big day is here. See you in just a few hours. #AppleEvent” along with an image of an empty field.
He then embraced the outdoors to discuss Apple’s latest features – and Twitter was confused as to why he was in a field.
Some joked that the 60-year-old looked like he was about to unveil the new Hunger Games stadium, while others were concerned he was lost.

One mused, “But why was @tim_cook in a field? Everyone else was in an office or on stage. What was he looking for?”
“I always admire @Apple for always being creative and innovative,” another said. “But why is Tim Cook in a field?”
One viewer quickly called the CEO’s setting “the best part” of the Apple event. “The best part of the #AppleEvent is @tim_cook just standing eager and ready in a field,” they tweeted.

The redesign of Airpods 3 introduces smaller stalks and “spatial audio”, which will make the sound feel as though it’s coming from around the head. Additionally, they have an extra hour of battery life. They open for pre-orders on Monday, and go on sale on 26 October.
Apple also unleashed two new powerful chips: ‘M1 Pro’ and ‘M1 Max.’
Apple’s Johny Srouji said in its launch announcement that the M1 Max’s performance is “the world’s most powerful chip for a pro notebook.”
