Whether brains are 'male' or 'female' remains a matter of fierce debate among academics.
But some neuroscientists do have firm views. Cambridge University professor Simon Baron-Cohen believes there there are broadly two natural brain "types": empathisers, which are more typically 'female' and sympathisers which are more nerdy and typically 'male'.
In a Daily Mail article to mark his documentary on the issue Is Your Brain Male or Female? being aired in Australia, medical journalist Dr Michael Mosley highlights a few simple tests to check whether your brain is more 'male' or 'female'.
