Over the last year London grafitti artist Mobstr has been locked in a battle of epic proportions with a council clean-up crew in Tower Hamlets, east London.
The battle site: the wall of a humble substation on Dace Road.
In a post on their website, the unidentified street artist wrote:
I cycled past this wall on the way to work for years. I noticed that graffiti painted within the red area was 'buffed' with red paint. However, graffiti outside of the red area would be removed via pressure washing. This prompted the start of an experiment. Unlike other works, I was very uncertain as to what results it would yield.
Over the course of a year, the experiment turned out to be hilarious. Mobstr made a gif showing what happened to the wall, which has now been viewed on Imgur more than four million times.

Imgur user Didier posted a picture of the wall that is supposedly from this morning:
Not only is Mobstr's last post still there, some new graffiti has been added, too.
Your move, Tower Hamlets.
