The world's leaders have been criticised for a perceived lack of response to the ongoing crisis in Iraq and Syria this summer as well as a failure to describe Russia's involvement in Ukraine as an invasion.

As heads of government convened this week at Celtic Manor for the Nato summit, an agreement has been reached to provide a 'spearhead' force in eastern Europe.
