The truth about *that* 'upstaged bride' proposal photo

You've probably already seen the photo of a man putting down his beer to propose to the maid of honour at someone else's wedding.

Turns out it might not have been as much of a dick move as it initially appeared. His new fiancée is the bride's sister, and she told the New York Daily News that she was the only one in the wedding party who didn't know the proposal was coming.

The bride's forced-looking smile led thousands of people on Reddit to speculate on what she thought of her sister stealing the limelight on her big day but apparently that's not the case.

“My fiancé told her he didn’t want to ruin their day and [the bride] insisted it would only make it better!” the woman, who identified herself as Megan, said. “The groom of the wedding actually held my engagement ring the entire trip!”

We don't know, Megan. Your sister still looks like she's throwing some serious shade. Maybe they'll announce baby news at your wedding.
