Suddenly everyone in Northern Ireland wants to get arrested

A police superintendent in Northern Ireland has been dubbed #OfficerHotStuff after he posted on Facebook about safety at a music festival.

In the way only the internet can, a detective in the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has been objectified for his looks and not his quality as a law enforcement officer.

In a post to Facebook regarding safety at the Tennant's Vital music festival which took place in Belfast on Thursday, the police service included some photographs of the detective superintendent.

The internet responded with 3.1 thousand likes, which is a tad higher than usual (in August the post with the second highest number of likes on the PSNI page had fewer than 200). Rather than being big fans of safety, it seems the internet thought the officer was handsome and said so.

Things got just a little bit creepy at times.

Not to justify sexual harassment, but his name sounds like a character from a romantic paperback. He is called 'Bobby Singleton', which indy100 believes is a local name meaning 'Available Police Officer'.

Some users pointed out how inappropriate this response to a handsome copper was.

DSI Singleton tweeted regarding the flash of fandom, 24 hours after the original post from PSNI was released.

He also said his colleagues weren't letting the fame get to him.
