This student tried to use her breakup as an excuse for her late homework. Her tutor had the perfect response

Rachel Harriman, like many of us, was pretty gutted when her relationship ended against her wishes.

When you've been brutally dumped, you don't feel much like eating, sleeping, or doing university work.

Harriman submitted an assignment late, and she wrote to her tutor to apologise and explain.

I am so sorry for hot late I am submitting this synopsis.

My boyfriend unexpectantly broke up with me yesterday evening and I was a complete, unfocused mess who did not account for my such a time consuming hiccup to affect my Sunday productivity.

This will obviously not happen again, as I am no longer 'in a relationship' and will have no one to break up with my next Sunday.

Also, I am very sorry that this is kind of uncomfortable. It is for me too.

She posted a copy of the message to Twitter from the Notepad on her iPhone.

Her professor had a wise and concise response.

Well, life happens. Seems like a good time to go to Europe.
