Some people think Jeremy Corbyn is sexy and we're not sure what to say

Following the unlikely fandoms of both Ed Miliband and Andy Burnham it looks as though another senior Labour politician has gained a web of admirers online.

That's right. People think Jeremy Corbyn is "sexy".

A thread has emerged on the Mumsnet forum posing the question: "Anyone else think Jeremy Corbyn is very sexy?"

According to StillStayingClassySanDiego, the left-winger is "attractive in a world weary old sea dog sort of way". Another user, LikeICan, simply states: "Phawoar."

While some tried to speak about politics, noting the party's need for an old left-winger to "get back to their roots", others were simply captivated by the Islington North MP's rugged demeanour...

I don't know, there's just something about him - he was on the news the other night & he looked like he'd just spent 2 weeks in the pub - he's got a coolness about him.

Something about Men who really stand up for their beliefs that does it for me.

TheMoa then followed up with an unconvincing list of sex symbols:

He's sexy in the way that all principled people who believe in things are.

I'm quite keen on Michael Gove, and Gordon Brown and Charles Kennedy for the same reason.

Certain users seemed to get carried away on the mere mention of Gove...

Yes, Gove! Super clever, wonky smile, nice eyes, tall, principled but can see all perspectives.. And did I mention super clever?

Anyway, back to Corbyn. Here's a picture of him dressed as Santa in 2013:

One Mumsnet user also noted how much better he is than his rivals, saying of a recent hustings event: "Burnham looked like a shiny robot by comparison... steam cleaned, eyelashes curled, coiffed and suited. Meh!"

According to an old article in the Daily Mail, this is not the first time Corbyn has been dubbed "sexy" on Mumsnet. In a Q&A on the site earlier this month he was quizzed on his "sexy eyes" as users wondered whether he wears mascara following a particularly sultry appearance on Question Time.

Well, if the weird world of Mumsnet is anything to go by, the next leader of the opposition has already been chosen...

On a more serious note, Corbyn's popularity with the opposite sex could have skewed the recent YouGov poll which saw him named the favourite in the Labour leadership race.

The left-winger attracted 47 per cent of females eligible to vote in the election - far more than any of his rivals. However, as the New Statesman'sStephen Bush points out, around 70 per cent of Labour members are male as opposed to the weighted 50 per cent used in the poll.

What do you think?
