Huckleberry is, according to his Twitter bio:

just a golden living the good life in Austin, TX.

The five-year old golden retriever living in Austin, Texas has taught himself to jump on the roof, because he's a very very good boy.

He does it so often that his owners, Allie and Justin Lindenmuth, have put up a sign asking passersby not to be alarmed and not to knock on their door if they spot the golden boy up there.

The sign reads:

Don't be alarmed!!!

Huckleberry is living up to his name and learned how to jump onto our roof from the backyard. We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home.

He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball.

We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door...we know he's up there!

But please feel free to take pictures of him and share them with the world #hucktheroofdog

Huckleberry has taught himself how to do it within six months of moving into the property, Allie Lidenmuth told CBS news.

They said they noticed about a 3-foot (91cm) clearance between their back garden and roof when they moved into the Texan house four and a half years ago - it only took the then puppy a six months.

"He now goes up every single time we let him outside," Allie said.

You could call it barkour.

Neighbours said that the Huckleberry is spotted up there several times a day, and has become known as "roof dog".

Allie Lidenmuth told CBS news:

He likes to sit up there and watch the cars and passersby.

He loves to bark and say hello!

It is pretty obvious when he is up there... it is very loud

The golden retriever was spotted on the roof so frequently, the Lindenmuths were receiving calls everyday from people informing them of his whereabouts - and everytime they had to explain doggo's routine.

To make sure Huckleberry stays safe, he's not allowed outside while his owners aren't home or the weather is bad.

The Lidenmuths are even considering building a ramp to protect his hips.

Despite being middle-aged in dog-terms, Huck isn't slowing down anytime soon.

According to Allie:

Huck still acts like a puppy 5 years in and isn't showing any signs of slowing down.

He is a wild one.

One time we were working on landscaping in the front yard and this car kept going by and slowing down in front of the house.

We're fairly used to that but they did it like 10 times and Huck was inside. Finally, they pull up to the driveway and the driver said, 'My 85-year-old mother is in town and I told her about your roof dog. Could you show him to her?

Twitter users are very excited about the jumping pup, calling it "the best thing ever".
