Millions of people around the world are active on dating websites and apps.

Meeting someone online is simply how many of us date now.

This means your bios need to be on point. One part wit, one part cool and a dash of daring.

So how do you distil who you are into a few sentences?

Well, Reddit users got together and brainstormed all the things that should not, under any circumstances go on your bio.

1. 'Rest in Peace...'

‘RIP Grandma 9/23/06'.

I’m sure all grandma wanted was to be immortalised in your tinder bio.

2. Nothing

Writing nothing, only ‘want to know more? Just ask’. Know more what? You didn’t write anything.

3. Negativity

‘Looking for someone who ACTUALLY wants to meet up/don’t know why I’m wasting my time on this/ only swipe right if you can hold a conversation’. You know a lot of these are reasonable to want, but saying it like this makes you look like a pissbaby I don’t want to strike up a conversation with. Especially if that’s your entire profile.

4. Saying you’re not actually active on the dating website and to follow your social media instead

Oh, they’re looking for more followers hoping guys will go on IG and follow them to make a good impression.

-Lokimonoxide

5. Complaining about generic first messages

It’s just so...condescending. If there’s no chemistry here it could full well be you too, dude.

6 ‘No drama’

No drama is a huge red flag they instigate a ton of sh*t and blame everyone else for doing so. ‘Don’t bother if you can’t hold a conversation’ means they expect you to keep them interested while they contribute absolutely nothing.

7. ‘I am an extroverted introvert’

Congratulations, you are a human.

-NewDayDawns

8 ‘Your mother will love me’

That’s...a curious thing to say...are they trying to date my mum?!

-Bahamabanana

9. ‘I am an intellectual’

You're a pretentious t**t who thinks you're deep because you badly misunderstood Nietzsche once in college.

-murderousbudgie

10. Emojis

Like I get its supposed to make it seem easier to figure out what kind of person they are but holy hell batman use your f**king words we are adults.
