A woman has taken to TikTok to share her unfiltered experience using online dating apps as a plus-sized woman.
In the video - that has since racked up over half a million views - Beth Caldwell shared some horrific and uncalled-for responses from men who simply swiped right to judge her appearance and send hurtful messages.
One of the 26-year-old’s unfortunate matches was Justin, who prided himself as ‘a bit of a rebel’ because he ‘doesn’t watch pornography. This was followed by a string of bizarre and random statements such as ‘masculinity is good’ and ‘exercise is like breathing’ in his Tinder bio.
The 36-year-old man sent Beth a message (that no one asked for) which read, ‘why not lose weight? It’s not hard’.
Beth said, “This man took time out of his day to match me specifically so that he could tell me that he didn’t like me”.
The man then offered continued to offer outlandish diet tips which suggested to not eat or drink for two weeks.
Naturally, TikTok followers were furious at the response and took to the comments.
One comment highlighted, ‘People who go through this much effort to try and bring someone down says A LOT about their own self confidence. He’s def got self hatred and you’re 100”
Another pointed out the irony of his Tinder bio that stated ‘vegetables are overrated.’ They said: “Vegetables are overrated” and he’s preaching about health?’
“He’s a walking red flag”, one user added. We can certainly agree with that.
