So the fact that The Simpsons was cannily adept at predicting the future is a well documented part of the internet canon at this point.
Alleged Fifa corruption, the horse meat scandal, NSA surveillance, the iPhone and smartwatches all had precedents in 90s episodes of the show - and now the latest conspiracy theory concerns the death of Harambe the gorilla, who was shot by zookeepers in Cincinnati after a little boy fell into his enclosure last week.

In a 2006 episode called 'Bart has two mommies', Homer takes Bart and Lisa to an animal sanctuary. An elderly chimpanzee pulls Bart through the bars of her cage and 'adopts' him after he offers her a bite of his ice cream.
This screenshot is currently doing the rounds on Imgur, where it's been viewed and shared thousands of times.
Rod Flanders eventually rescues him - sadly the IRL version didn't end so well.
