This woman sent off for a new passport and something horrifying went wrong with the photo

Passport photos. Nobody likes them

Posted to reddit on Friday, user Reece1 shared an image of a passport size photo submitted by his girlfriend, and the version that ended up being printed in her new American passport.

As you can see, her forehead is now... On the larger side.

Unless, of course, the smaller photo on the left is actually squashed, and her head is indeed stretched out.

According to US State Department guidelines, a passport photo size must be:

• 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm) in size
• Sized such that the head is between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches (between 25 and 35 mm) from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.

BuzzFeed News tracked down the couple to Austin Texas. They are Reece Lagunas and girlfriend Chelsey Ramos (who has cruelly been compared to 1990s SNL characters, the 'Cone Heads').

Lagunas told Buzzfeed News that her passport had now been fixed.

The man that helped her was super helpful, I think he pulled up the photo on his computer and also had a laugh — told her it was obviously their mistake, and provided her with all the info to get it taken care of
