Nacho cheese, a trail of lottery tickets and two crates of beer: meet the worst (alleged) criminal in the history of crime

A 20-year-old alleged criminal mastermind was foiled by police after a trail of snacks and lottery tickets led them to his whereabouts on Friday.

Police in Iowa City tracked down Francisco Munoz - covered in nacho cheese and carrying two crates of Corona - approximately 100 yards from a convenience store he had earlier broken into.

Munoz had "bloodshot, watery eyes and showed other signs of intoxication" according to The Gazette, and police later recorded a blood alcohol content level of 0.270 per cent.

He reportedly caused $1,000 of damage after using a brick to smash his way into the Creekside Market store and faces charges of third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and public intoxication.
