This may be the most British thing that's ever happened during the season of goodwill.
Brits have a lot of their own traditions at Christmas time, such as being told some foods are out of bounds because 'it's for Christmas' and muttering 'merry Christmas to you too' at anyone rude.
Another time old ritual is accepting gifts out of politeness.
One pair have taken this tradition to its extreme.
Comedian, writer, and, singer Ariane Sherine tweeted about her British husband's traditional gift exchange that was the epitome of politeness.
Despite being the creator of the Atheist bus campaign in 2009, Sherine and her family partake in the Christmas tradition of gift giving.

To keep track of all your Britishisms this Christmas, the Twitter sensation 'Very British Problems' has created this handy bingo chart.
