Melania Trump watching ballerinas is the strangest thing you'll see today

There are few people in the world that never cease to amaze us just quite like Melania Trump does.

The first lady of the United States can't stay out of the news at the moment, especially when she insists on creating Christmas trees out of blood.

If that wasn't enough, take a look at what happened at last year's ceremony.

Melania, who clearly hadn't been given any instructions on what to do while the ballerinas were dancing to Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, just awkwardly stood at the bottom of a small flight of stairs and motionlessly stared into the abyss.

Judy Kurtz from The Hill captured this bizarre moment at the time and it soon went viral on Twitter.

What on Earth was she thinking? Why didn't she smile or a least try to look relaxed? Was this some sort of surprise?

The footage has since gone viral again after it was shared by the meme Twitter account Humans of Late Capitalism and 12 months on, people are still perplexed.

Many people thought that this combined with her terrifying red trees looked like something from the horror film Suspiria in which a coven of witches takes over a ballet school in Germany.
