A bizarre rumour has surfaced that Lizzo ‘crushed a fan to death during one of her shows by diving off the stage.’
Of course, it’s just a rumour and the ‘Good as Hell’ singer took to TikTok on Wednesday to clear up any confusion. In a video that has since racked up 8.3 million views and is titled, “STOP THE [CAP EMOJI]” (i.e. lies), the award-winning artist said:
“I’ve seen a lot of annoying things about me on the internet, but the thing that bothers me the most is this rumour that I stage dived at a concert and killed somebody,” she said. “Like that rumour… it’s a lie, first of all! I’ve never stage dived in my life.”
Lizzo even presented followers with a visual to shut down the claimTikTok
The 33-year-old then dived onto her bed to prove to her 17 million followers that her force doesn’t have life-threatening capabilities. “Y’all really gon’ put that on my motherf***ing name? Like, I know I’m big, but, bitch, I’m not that f***ing big.” She said.
Fans were just as confused by the rumour as we were and took to the comments section to express their bewilderment.
One said, “I’m so sorry, I feel so bad for laughing – it’s her delivery.”
While another recalled the original source, “HELPPP I remember the tweet, it was like: seven de@d, twelve in critical condition”, which was liked by 8K fellow TikTok users.
A third envied the outlandish claim, “I would be honoured if you stage dived and killed me”, they said.
