Some important research into which political party likes which Star Wars character best

Yesterday, the second trailer for the new Star Wars film, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, was released and in general people can't cope.

Because we're excited about it too, are still thinking about last night's leaders' debate, and because it's a Friday afternoon, we threw together some important charts about which Star Wars characters voters from various parties like the most.

Here's what we learned:

Everyone loves Han Solo

The Lib Dems hate robots

Chewbacca has the most traction with the two largest Westminster parties

Everyone likes Obi-Wan (but not as much as Han Solo)

Everyone is a bit meh about Luke Skywalker

But the Lib Dems really like Princess Leia

And finally, if you had to name the supporters of one party that liked Darth Vader more than any other group, what would you say? Go on, guess...

All data courtesy of YouGov, which interviewed 1,696 adults in mid-June last year when the new film was first announced.
