Now that we're all at home more often, lots of people are finding refuge in wholesome things that they'd normally ignore while out drinking too much wine or dancing until 5am, like candles and cushions and stuff.
People who are discovering the joys of overpriced scented candles are also realising the horror of when one tunnels: you know, when it just burns down the centre and wastes so much of the scented goodness that you paid so much money for. The more you burn it, the more it happens. It’s a vicious cycle that’s actually very triggering, tbh!
Well now a simple trick has been discovered to let us all play capitalism and the candle industry at its own, sneaky game.
Someone has finally discovered how to get all that wasted wax back and make your tunnelled candle last as long as you thought it would when you bought it – and all you need is some tin foil!
Simply wrap foil around the edge of the candle, leaving a hole in the middle so that the wick can burn through properly. After a couple of hours, your wax will have melted to normal (unless you can't follow these simple instructions or your candle is cursed).
The trick went viral on Instagram on Twitter, where people thought it was incredible. Take that, billionaire candle industry mogul overlords!

Just FYI, common cause of tunnelling is not burning your candle for long enough when you first light it. So to avoid having to use this hack in the first place, make sure you burn it for at least three hours.
