The difference between Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn in two charts

There are left wing populists setting an example for Jeremy Corbyn, but not in the way you might imagine.

A new poll of US politicians puts left leaning senator Bernie Sanders at the top, as the nation's least reviled active politician.

Sanders ran for the Democratic nomination for president in 2016, but describes himself as an 'independent'.

A Harvard-Harris poll asking the 'favourability' and 'unfavourability' of active politicians put Bernie Sanders ahead of his fellow senators, party leaders, and the candidate who beat him Hilary Clinton.

In addition, Sanders beat Republicans, including the president and vice president.

The senator has not ruled out a run for the presidency in 2020.

Given this popularity for a left winger, considered an individual, ostracised by the mainstream and established figures of their party, what could this mean for Jeremy Corbyn in the UK general election 2017?

While it might suggest that Corbyn is more of a threat than he was given credit, it's worth remembering the major differences.
