The 'Flat Stomach' meme just got pregnant

First there was the flat stomach meme. Then it became the pregnant meme.

The internet is one big osmosis of ideas, so it comes as little surprise that a tongue-in-cheek meme about wanting a flat stomach versus eating lots of yummy food was given an upgrade.

The flat stomach meme began with Twitter user @itsJWolfe, who posted a side profile of a human body using dashes.

It was accompanied by a simple caption.

Me: I want a flat stomach.

My stomach

Others used the meme to describe food and eating too.

There was the inevitable 'healthy' stomach

And one about fast metabolisms

There was an Italian stomach...

Also: Cakes.

A heartache stomach

A stress stomach

A hot beverage tummy

It was fun for a while. And then the stomach got pregnant.

And then it turned into something weird.

Because floating emoji heads inside someone's stomach is weird

But not as weird as a floating emoji head that also has floating hands.

And it wasn't long before the NSFW ones slipped through. Because we can't have nice things.
