Everything is terrible. So here's just a load of cute animals

The world is pretty terrible right now.

But in this dark hour, there's hope. Hope that comes in the form of a hashtag, of all things.

Zoos all over the world have started using the hashtag #CuteAnimalTweetOff in order to share pictures of their cutest creatures.

And by god, it’s exactly what we needed right now.

It started with the birth of this adorable seal pup at Washington DC’s National Zoo.

Then the Virginia Aquarium replied with an osprey and an otter.

National Zoo hit back with an orangutan infant.

The gloves were off.

And the hashtag was born.

We can keep going, if you like?

Maybe we can pull through this after all, you guys.
