It’s cold, it’s November and sometimes only an adorable video of a baby elephant will do.
Thankfully, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust – which runs an orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program based in Kenya – knows what’s what and has shared a ridiculously cute clip of an elephant calf that has won the internet’s heart.
The 13-second video shows the animal peeking over its wooden enclosure – revealing just its eyes – while playfully waving its trunk around. Halfway through the clip, a high-pitched squeaking sound can be heard, which appears to be the elephant’s way of saying: “I’m having a good time”.
The clip, captioned “peekaboo”, has been shared more than 70,000 times on Twitter since it was posted this weekend and racked up more than 7,000 likes.
