Just when Americans didn’t think they could be shocked by their President anymore, Trump fired James Comey, director of the FBI, during an ongoing investigating into Russia’s alleged involvement in the 2016 US election.
“Not since Watergate has a president dismissed the person leading an investigation bearing on him,” writes the New York Times' Peter Baker.
Jennifer Rubin at The Washington Post concluded:
The only thing we can say with any confidence is that this will never be a “normal” presidency without controversy, scandal and a fair amount of mayhem.
And the rest of us?
Memes and jokes. Because how else could we possibly cope with this?
