Following the news that the UK had voted for Brexit, David Cameron announced that he will stand down as prime minister before the Conservative party conference in October.
But if you thought the people would be feeling sympathetic for a man who led the nation through years of austerity and then inadvertently led Britain out of the EU, then, um, you'd be wrong.
As the Brexit result looked beyond doubt earlier in the morning, some people started tweeting #SuggestAJobForCameron...
