As ill-advised tattoos to show off at work go...

In today's important life lesson news, a man was fired from his job after showing colleagues the Isis tattoo he had on the inside of his lip.

Kirk Soccorso, from New York, said he was fired by Home Depot over the tattoo but had no idea about its connection to Isis the terror group; his tattoo in fact refers to his ex-girlfriend who just happened to be named after an Egyptian goddess.

"I feel a little lost," Soccorso told CNN. "It was a good paying job."

Home Depot meanwhile said the New Yorker was sacked from his job as a tool demonstrator (nope, us neither) not "just based on the tattoo".
