Amish Trump supporters staged a 'horse rally' and it was truly bizarre

Bizarre footage of a horse-drawn Trump rally has been viewed more than 6 million times on Twitter.

There's speculation that those in the carriages waving Trump flags are Amish, showing rare support for a political candidate.

According to Amish America, less than 10 per cent of Amish people typically vote.

It isn't forbidden outright, but is considered a matter for the material kingdom rather than the spiritual kingdom that Amish people are more concerned with.

Those who do vote are reportedly far more likely to be Republican than Democrat, though, so it's not impossible a group of them staged the Trump rally.

According to The Washington Post, the Trump campaign tried to seize on the potential Amish vote, particularly in Pennsylvania, which is home to more than 750,000 Amish people. The Amish PAC targeted potential voters with billboards and newspaper adverts in the hopes of clinching the crucial swing state.

Apparent Amish Trump supporters have also been spotted at his rallies. (Again, though, it's impossible to verify whether or not they're actually Amish.)

Trump has met with Amish groups during his presidency and addressed them directly at some of his rallies.

At one, he said:

Don't tell anyone, but the Pennsylvania Dutch are voting en masse. 

They're hard workers, incredible craftsmen. They can throw up a barn in about two days. 

With Pennsylvania still yet to declare whether they voted red or blue, it remains to be seen whether Trump's attempts to win the the state have been successful.
