Who knew a selfie could cause this much fuss?

Alyssa Bordelon is a Twitter user from New Orleans in Louisiana.

She took a selfie in a dress prior to going out for a meal.

Twitter then started eating its own young in a howling escher-like pit of madness and despair, because her room had clearly not been cleaned in a while.

People noticed everything, including the floor marshmallows...

...the case of the missing shoe...

...and the rodent problem:

It makes your hoover-less few weeks look like nothing.

Alyssa has raised a good point that she shouldn't be abused for the state of her room, in a response to all the replies:

However, let's take this with a pinch of salt.

She's opportunistically set up a GoFundMe page, asking people to pay her to tidy her room.

She wrote:

Many of you have expressed concerns with the state of my apartment. I hear them. However, being an adult with adult expenses, it is sometimes difficult to find time to give attention to less pressing needs.

Inexplicably, it's made $65 so far and has yet to be taken down.

All in all, a messy bedroom and nothing else worth seeing here, move along people.
