Sex Education series 3 trailer is out – and fans can barely contain their excitement

The official trailer for the third series of Netflix comedy-drama Sex Education has dropped and it’s safe to say that fans are excited to catch up with their favourite characters, and are curious to learn more about the Moordale High makeover.

In this season, the students are in for a rude awakening due to the unwelcome arrival of new headteacher Hope Haddon (Jemima Kirke) and they soon learn she means business.

Strict new rules, including school uniforms and old fashioned sex education lessons, are part of her regime in order to boost Moordale’s reputation which has been now been dubbed as “the sex school” by news reporters.

Within the two-and-a-half minute clip, we see plenty of nudity (including someone’s crotch being set alight), a pet goat, Otis’ new moustache, and the iconic bathrooms – where Otis and Maeve’s sex advice business began – sadly being destroyed.

But fans will be glad to hear that all of the regular cast members have returned for the latest series including, Otis (Asa Butterfield), Maeve (Emma Mackey), Eric (Ncut Gatwa), Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood), Adam (Connor Swindells), Jean (Gillian Anderson) and Mr Groff (Alistair Petrie).

A new season also means meeting some new characters along the way such as Mr Groff’s older brother Peter Groff (Jason Issacs) and non-binary student Cal (Dua Saleh).

People have taken to Twitter to share their excitement ahead of the new season being released later this month on September 17.

Many were happy to see some cute moments between Otis and Maeve after how things were left with the pair in series two.

Though the trailer also hinted at a possible romance between Otis and Ruby (Mimi Keene) which has led to some mixed opinions. Some have said they’re here for it, however, others would rather see Otis with Maeve.

Seems like we may have a “Team Maeve” vs “Team Ruby” on our hands this series...

However, one thing everyone can agree is their dislike towards Isaac who deleted THAT voicemail call on Maeve’s phone from Otis last series and is set to return this series – and cause some trouble, no doubt.

Meanwhile, fans have said they are not prepared to watch the emotional scene between Maeve and Aimee that was teased in the trailer.

A new series means we also get to see Otis and Eric be the epitome of friendship goals once more – with the addition of Adam to the group as Eric’s boyfriend (which fans are loving).

“It’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way,” the Netflix series synopsis reads. “Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee discovers feminism, Jackson gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms. Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes and much more of Madam Groff.”

Watch the third series of Sex Education on Netflix from September 17.
