Man has his own birthday ruined thanks to VAR decision in Premier League match

Most football fans have had their team spoil their birthday at one point or other but rarely has a decision ruined someone’s day at the very moment they’re receiving the cake.

In a video that has gone viral, one unlucky West Ham supporter is seen surrounded by his loved ones singing “Happy Birthday” at the exact same time as Crystal Palace have their winning goal against the Hammers confirmed by VAR.

Perhaps if the fan in question had been handed the cake seconds earlier he might have blown out the candles and made the wish that the goal not be given.

Sadly he was too late and might have been advised to turn the television off while being serenaded by his family.

The football community online delighted in the fans misfortune and shared it far and wide.
