People didn't really know how to handle Tyson Fury's tweet after the cocaine story

Tyson Fury tested positive for a compound found in cocaine ahead of his world heavyweight championship rematch with Wladimir Klitschko on 29 October, it has been reported.

It emerged on Friday that Fury was declared ‘medically unfit’ on 22 September, testing positive for benzoylecgonine, a central compound found in cocaine.

Last week, he pulled out of his proposed rematch with Klitschko, which had been rearranged for 29 October.

His official account handled the situation by tweeting this image and making it his Twitter avatar:

Which is certainly one way of dealing with things. It certainly didn't calm things down, as people remarked.

It's also an odd tweet given Fury's previous comments about drug use last April, which appeared to suggest it was linked to his depression:

It’s either high or low. I’m either off my head on cocaine or down on the floor from a tranquiliser injection.

Most of the time, I’m just down and depressed like today, because for every high there’s a low.

Fury's WBA, WBO and IBF belts could be on the line if the allegations are confirmed.

A Ukad spokesperson told the Guardian:

UK Anti-Doping will not discuss or disclose information relating to cases until due legal process has been complete.

The boxer has yet to release an official statement responding to the reports.
