A footballer has seen his affectionate goal celebration in Bulgaria go terribly awry after he had a goal wrongly ruled out for offside.
During a Bulgarian First League game between Ludogorets and Slavia Sofia over the weekend, Wanderson, a Brazilian midfielder for Ludogorets scored what he thought was the winning goal.
His tap-in at the back post looked to have secured a tight 1-0 win for his side so he jumped the advertising boards and gave his wife a nice big kiss, which, in his mind, he thoroughly deserved.
However, he really should have waited for the whistle as unbeknownst to him the linesman had flagged for offside, rendering his elaborate celebration completely meaningless.
The moment was shared on Twitter by the user @shumansko and had instantly become something of a viral hit on social media.
As Mr Shumansko correctly pointed out, Wanderson's goal should not have been ruled out as there was no offside and therefore should have given his team the lead. Where's VAR when you need it, aye?
The most amusing part of the entire clip is when the game kicks off again and he is still waiting to receive a smooch from his other half. Surely she could have told him what was going on behind him?
If you are interested the game ended in a 0-0 draw and by the sounds of it, this kiss was the most interesting thing that happened, so fair play to Wanderson for grabbing the headlines in a game that didn't have any.
That being said, this possibly wasn't the most elaborate celebration seen over the weekend in Europe.
Barcelona striker Antonie Griezmann celebrated his second goal in a 5-2 win over Real Betis by randomly throwing a handful of glitter in the air that had been handed to him by someone in the crowd.
To each their own, I guess...
