Perhaps it's why he does so much golf.
United States President Donald Trump gave up athletic sports after college, several biographies have noted.
The Washington Post's 2016 biography said this was because he believed:
the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted.
It may be obvious, but this isn't how exercise works.
Exercise does deplete stores of glucose, glycogen and fats in muscle tissue, but these are restored when you eat.
It is true that if you had a limited food supply, exercising non-stop would be a guaranteed way of starving faster.
But Donald Trump does not have a limited food supply, and generally exercise is shown to only improve your health.
Exercise is shown by studies to help you live longer, which is why every health service in the world recommends exercise.
But as we know, Donald Trump is not one for accepting the wisdom of the times.
