Crystal Palace say they 'would not stand in the way' if Real Madrid wanted Alan Pardew

Big news for Real Madrid and Crystal Palace fans alike... should the Bernabeu come calling, Palace manager Alan Pardew could be free answer the call.

Speaking to the BBC's 5live Sport, Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish commented on the rich vein of form the Eagles are enjoying under Pardew's premiership, and whether his services would attract the attention of a bigger club:

You know we want Alan to stay at the club for a very long time, but who knows what will happen?

If Real Madrid want Alan Pardew then I’m sure we wouldn’t stand in his way.

You know, everyone wants to get to the best point they can in their career, but at the moment I know Alan’s very happy here and he’s not thinking about anything else other than being here, we’re not thinking about anything else than him being here, and if something comes up because we’re very successful then what can we do about it?

We’d have to cross that bridge at the time.

While Pardew is enjoying his time at Selhurst Park, it'd be a little different to a tenure at the Bernabeu, where he would preside over Galacticos Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo...

Pardew took over Crystal Palace on New Year's Day 2015, taking the club from the relegation zone to a tenth place finish.

Palace currently sit in 5th, with nine wins and four draws from 19 fixtures. And Rafa Benitez is currently thought to be "on the verge of the sack" at Real...

What an unbelievable time to be alive.
