A bit of evidence that some footballers are decent types after all

Footballers get a bad press a lot of the time for being painted as vain, greedy and just as likely to appear on the front page of a newspaper as the back.

But sometimes the perception is quite far from the reality, as this video from BBC Midlands Today and Aston Villa's YouTube channel shows.

Premier League side West Brom are one of many clubs to make pre-Christmas visits to hospitals to cheer up young fans, and it was while at Birmingham Children's Hospital that defender Joleon Lescott bumped into 15-year-old Aston Villa fan Moin Younis.

Dressed in his claret and blue dressing gown, Moin, who says he is Villa's biggest fan, exchanges some friendly banter with Lescott ahead of today's West Midlands derby.
