Fox News host Tucker Carlson has expressed outrage following a raunchy performance at the Grammy Awards, claiming it was “intentionally trying to degrade our culture and hurt our children.”

He was referring to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s rendition of their hit song WAP, which involved pole dancing and attracted plenty of online attention.

“No more Dumbo. It’s too filthy. We get that instead,” he complained. “It is hard not to conclude that they are actively trying to degrade our culture and hurt our children.”

His guest Candace Owens agreed, adding: “Virtually, what we were looking at last night was a lesbian sex scene being simulated on television, and this is considered feminist.

“This feels more sinister. This is starting to me to seem like it’s not even left or right, it’s not a political issue. This feels like an attack on American values, American traditions, and you’re actually trying to make children aspire to things that are grotesque.”

She continued: “You have these kids learning about critical race theory, they’re learning they should aspire to people like Cardi B. You see that fundamentally we are seeing the destruction of American values, American principles.”

However, scores of Twitter users have responded by accusing the hosts of hypocrisy given their alleged championship of free speech. They also noted the irony of the pair’s sensitivity and outrage given their previous mockery of “snowflakes”.

But Carlson and Owens were not the only fierce critics of the performance.

The National Center for Sexual Exploitation issued a statement reading: “CBS Grammys broadcast contributed to the sexual exploitation of women by glamourizing prostitution and stripping.”

However, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have never claimed to be kid’s entertainers or family-friendly artists. Their music comes with the standard advisory labels that most explicit releases do.
