Donald Trump Jr. has revealed that his father, the president, once gave away a copy of one of his favourite video games to Michael Jackson.
Promoting his book on CBS, Trump Jr. revealed that Jackson owned an apartment in Trump Tower in New York throughout the 1980s and 1990s, next door to Ivanka et al.
He said:
So this is sort of a cool story. Michael Jackson used to come up and he was our neighbour at Trump Tower. So I was playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Michael Jackson!
You know, this is in the early 90s—maybe even in the late 80s. Peak Michael. We're playing Nintendo and Michael really likes the game.
So my dad walks in and says “Well, why don't you take the game Michael?” And so I'm sitting there like…
At this point the younger Donald Trump broke off with an expression of disbelief, perhaps time hasn’t healed this particular wound.
He went on to say:
I'm pretty sure Michael could've called Nintendo and said "I want one of those."
It wouldn't have been a big deal, but he just took it.
One might think a lighthearted story involving Jackson might not play all that well in 2019 but clearly the Trumps didn't get the memo.
In case you are wondering, we think that Trump Jr is referring to the 1989 Turtles game which was insanely hard.
