Donald Trump's campaign manager Brad Parscale has compared the president's 2020 re-election campaign to the Death Star from Star Wars.

In a tweet that Parscale shared on Thursday afternoon he wrote:

For nearly three years we have been building a juggernaut campaign (Death Star).

It is firing on all cylinders. Data, Digital, TV, Political, Surrogates, Coalitions, etc.

In a few days we start pressing FIRE for the first time.

He then attached a GIF of the Death Star from the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope, firing its 'super laser' which has the capacity to destroy an entire planet.

The problem here is that not only is it terrifying that the president's campaign manager would say what he is doing is the equivalent to blowing up a planet but also that he didn't take into consideration what happens at the end of A New Hope, where Luke Skywalker blows up the Death Star a delivers a significant blow to the Empire.

Luckily for us, the internet didn't overlook this and were more than happy to remind him of the ending of that film.

Also, why are Trump and his pals so... happy about being the bad guys in this story?

Parscale, who was almost definitely trolling did follow this up by saying that the media had called the campaign the "Death Star" but that he was happy to use the analogy.

In a follow-up tweet he wrote:

I didn’t give our campaign the name, Death Star, the media did.

However, I am happy to use the analogy.

The fact is, we haven’t used it yet. Laugh all you want, we will take the win!

So the president's campaign is now officially identifying as a "planet destroyer"...

Only in 2020.
