Rapper: Why I cut off my penis

The rapper who cut off his penis and then jumped out of the second floor of a building in Los Angeles has broken his silence to explain what happened.

Andre Johnson, who performs under the name Christ Bearer, told E! that while he was on drugs on the day of the incident in April, he was "in complete control".

"I cut it off because that was the root of all my problems. My solution to the problem was the realization that sex is for mortals, and I am a god", he said.

Johnson said that while medical staff could not re-attach his penis he was "alive, penis or no penis".

He also denied he had been attempting suicide, saying: "I didn't want to kill myself.. that was just my response to the demons."
