13 times fraudster Bernie Madoff was immortalized in rap songs

On Wednesday, Bernard Madoff, one of the United State’s biggest investment fraud schemers passed away aged 82. The AP reported that he died from natural causes.

Madoff was serving a 150-year prison sentence at the Federal Center in Bunter, North Carolina, where he requested compassionate release from prison, which was denied in June.

The victims of his Ponzi scheme include Kevin Bacon, Steven Spielberg, Noble Peace Prize winner Elie Weisel and regular investors such as Burt Ross, who lost US$5 million in the scheme.

“It was a bad day, But pretty quickly we were able to see all the things we had as opposed to whatever we lost, and those are the biggest cliches: children, health, love, a nice home. So we got through it together. I don’t think about Madoff, like, at all, “ Bacon told the Guardian in 2017.

Just like the high-profile people speaking about how he ended up defrauding out of their hard-earned money, notable rappers also had a few things to say about Madoff’s money moves within their songs.
