The highly anticipated live-action reimagining of the iconic ‘90s Cartoon Network series, The Powerpuff Girls, has officially begun filming in Atlanta.
With the main cast, set and production for the pilot officially underway, a new series of set photos and images shared by TMZ provide the first look at some of the cast in costume.
The three lead stars in the series were pictured in their famous colours, Blossom (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Chloe Bennet) in pink, Bubbles (Descendants’ Dove Cameron) in blue, and Buttercup (Broadway actress Yana Perrault) in green.
In a shaky clip filmed from afar, Bennet is seen running then swinging into the air on a harness, while the other two characters run by. While the actors are obviously unmasked, most of the rest of the crew can be seen wearing face masks due to local Covid rules.

The new CW series will catch up with Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup who are now “disillusioned twenty somethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting”.
Heather Regnier (Veronica Mars) and Diablo Cody (Juno) are writing the script for the Powerpuff pilot and Maggie Kiley is set to direct.
Regnier, Cody, and Kiley will all executive produce alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden.
The series will also star Donald Faison as Professor Drake Utonium, and Nicholas Podany as Mojo Jojo Jr.
