Rarely does a day go by where we don't hear anything about Marvel.
This time around though it isn't a daft meme or wild fan theory to talk about, it's actually a great bit of recruiting from the blockbuster movie studio.
On Friday it was confirmed by IndieWire that Chloe Zhao, who has won plaudits for her direction on the acclaimed indie film The Rider, will direct the upcoming Marvel sci-fi flick, The Eternals.
This will make 36-year-old Zhao, an Asian-American, the first woman of colour to direct a Marvel film and only the third woman to direct a film for the studio overall, following in the footsteps of directors Anna Boden (co-director of Captain Marvel) and Cate Shortland (Black Widow).
Given that the first 20 movies by the studio were all directed by men, it shows that Marvel are definitely trying to be more diverse in how they make their movies.
Although some would argue that maybe this is a little late for Marvel to be making a decision like this it's still being greeted with overwhelming positivity from fans on Twitter.
Not much is known about The Eternals at the time of writing but much like Guardians of the Galaxy, it will be one of the more obscure and stranger titles that the studio has adapted.
In the comics, The Eternals is set millions of years in the past and follows a race of humans created by aliens called the Celestials, who were engineered to defend earth from the evil Deviants.
There is no release date set for this film but Zhao's attachment and the possibility of what sounds like a truly surreal story is potentially very exciting.
