Marvel fans are livid that this deleted scene featuring Hulk and Black Widow was not included in Infinity War

(Warning: Major spoilers ahead for both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame)

A deleted scene from Avengers: Infinity War has appeared online, featuring a touching reunion between Mark Ruffalo's Hulk and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, leaving fans questioning why it was left out of the movie.

The scene, which also features Falcon, takes place in Wakanda just as Thanos' army has invaded in search of the final Infinity Stone. Away from the battlefield, Falcon and Black Widow stumble across Bruce Banner who is in his full Hulk form.

Anticipating that this version of the Hulk will be the anger-filled one that we are all familiar with, Black Widow attempts to calm him down using the method that she used throughout Avengers: Age of Ultron, a movie that saw the two characters form a meaningful bond before Banner forced himself into exile.

While the two had met earlier in Infinity War, Natasha was yet to see Banner in his Hulk form and fans might remember that barring a few scenes at the start of the film, Banner did not return to the Hulk form in that movie at all. In the cannon of the actual MCU, we didn't see Banner as Hulk again until 2019's Endgame when he had managed to successfully merge his intelligence with the brawn of the Hulk, which some fans have named 'Professor Hulk.'

However, in the scene that has surfaced online, it shows that Banner managed to merge the two identities during Infinity War to the amazement of both Black Widow and Falcon.

It's easy to see why this scene wasn't included in the final film as it wouldn't have really worked within the tone of the final battle and would have taken away from the amusing reveal of the new Hulk in Endgame. That being said some Marvel fans can't help but feel that this sombre moment between Hulk and Black Widow, two characters that audiences had invested a lot of time in, deserved to be included somewhere within Infinity War, with some fans feeling that both movies left them short-changed of Hulk moments.

Some understood why the scene wasn't included in Infinity War but felt that something along these lines would have worked in Endgame.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Hulk in the MCU going forward but Black Widow's story is due to come to a conclusion in her self-titled movie which was due for release this year but has been delayed due to coronavirus, with no new confirmed release date yet to be announced.
