Like most of us, Little Mix have had a whirlwind year.
They released a new album to rave reviews and filmed their own reality show, also to rave reviews.
And following the news that Jesy Nelson is taking extended leave from the group because of private medical reasons, band member Leigh-Anne Pinnock has landed her first solo film project.
She will appear in the upcoming British romantic comedy Boxing Day. Actor Aml Ameen will make his debut as a director for the film, which has an all-Black cast. The film follows a British author to London for Christmas to introduce his American fiancée to his British-Caribbean family.
Leigh-Anne shared the news on her Instagram and fans were thrilled, flooding her profile with positive comments.
But some have worried that solo projects like this might be a signal that the group may take a break soon.
“I cannot have Little Mix break up”, one fan wrote on Twitter. “My heart won’t be able to cope if Little Mix split up”, tweeted another.Â
These concerns follow reports by The Mirror that Jade Thirwall is being “lined up” for presenting gigs in the event of a split.
Yet Thirwall has previously rubbished split rumours, insisting Little Mix will “never die”.
