To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of one of Kanye West’s biggest songs, Kim Kardashian shared a surprisingly cute story about how it came to be.
Lost In The World features on West’s 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. This weekend marked a decade since its release.
To commemorate the occasion, Kardashian revealed that the song was actually inspired by a poem the rapper wrote about her.
In a post on Instagram, she explained how he came up with the lyrics after writing a poem in her 30th birthday card.
She wrote: “Kanye couldn’t come up with some of the lyrics but then realized he had them in a poem he had written me that was my birthday card he gave me for my 30th birthday.”
Kardashian continued: “He took the poem he wrote me and made it the song. I keep everything!”
The reality star shared an image of the aforementioned birthday card.
In addition to stick drawings and an image of a ‘yaught’, Kanye wrote a heartfelt message.
The card reads: “Late is better than never!”
It continues:
You’re my devil, you’re my angel, you’re my heaven, you’re my hell, you’re my now, you’re my forever, you’re my freedom, you’re my jail, you’re my lies, you’re my truth, you’re my war, you’re my truce, you’re my questions, you’re my proof, you’re my stress and you’re my masseuse.
When West wrote this birthday card for Kardashian, they weren’t dating.
In fact, she was dating her future husband Kris Humphries.
It was written two years before 'Kimye’ publicly started dating and four years prior to their marriage.
